GREAT NEW KIWI SAUVIGNON FROM KEVIN JUDD [EX CLOUDY BAY]

Greywacke Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009 has just arrived into the UK and really made an impression. The man behind it is winemaker superstar, Kevin Judd, who created the Cloudy Bay phenomenon.

This wine is a stunner. I tasted it in September 09 at a Trade tasting in London. I tasted 115 wines that day and this came out 2nd best. I scored it 92pts and it was beaten only by the great Allegrini Amarone 2005 (93+pts).
Greywacke has all that I look for in a serious Kiwi sauvignon. Racy and vibrant, with the trademark gooseberry and passion-fruit, but more sophisticated than the pack..... serious minerality; depth and a persistent finish. Wonderful with or without food.
