Indulge in the exceptional Château Haut-Bailly 2020, a 100-point rated Bordeaux wine from Pessac-Léognan. Hailing from one of the finest terroirs in Graves, this vintage showcases the elegance and power of Left Bank Bordeaux, crafted with precision in the château's newly constructed, state-of-the-art cellar.
Vineyard & Terroir
Perched atop the rolling hills of Graves, Château Haut-Bailly spans 30 hectares of vines planted on a mosaic of gravel, clay, and sandy soils. These natural slopes ensure optimal drainage, allowing the vines to thrive, even through the extreme drought and heat of the 2020 season.
The Exceptional 2020 Vintage
Following a challenging start with spring frost and summer heatwaves, the vineyard’s deep-rooted vines flourished. Storms in mid-August alleviated water stress, allowing grapes to reach full ripeness. The result: small, concentrated berries bursting with complexity, balance, and finesse, on par with the legendary 2010 vintage.
Tasting Notes
Château Haut-Bailly 2020 is full-bodied yet remarkably elegant, offering layers of blackberry, graphite, black olive, and finely polished tannins. Its structure is both muscular and refined, earning near-universal acclaim.
"This has incredible power and drive... with so much character. The head of the château calls it 'diabolical beauty'." James Suckling - 100 Points

Experience the elegance of Château Haut-Bailly, a prestigious Grand Cru Classé wine from Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux. This iconic French red wine is crafted from 28 hectares of prime vineyards situated on elevated, gravel-rich soils just east of Léognan village, terroir known for producing some of the finest wines in the region.
The classic Château Haut-Bailly red blend includes 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc, delivering a harmonious balance of structure, depth, and aromatic complexity. Aged for 15 months in 50% new French oak barrels, this wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve its natural character and aging potential.
Château Haut-Bailly is renowned for its silky tannins and refined texture, and since the mid-1990s, has evolved to offer greater fruit intensity, richness, and body. This makes it a standout among top Bordeaux red wines and a collector's favourite.
In addition to its flagship red, the estate also produces a limited-edition rosé wine made exclusively from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The rosé is fermented one-third in new oak barrels and two-thirds in stainless steel tanks at 16°C, ensuring exceptional freshness and vibrancy.
