Triple 100-Point Château Margaux 2000 – Exceptional Bordeaux Vintage Wine for Discerning Collectors. Experience the pinnacle of Bordeaux excellence with the Château Margaux 2000; a masterpiece hailed as one of the finest vintages of the 21st century. Crafted from an extraordinary concentration of Cabernet Sauvignon (90%) and Merlot (10%), this legendary wine sets an unprecedented benchmark for elegance, power, and longevity in premium French red wines.
Rarely have the grapes shown such exceptional concentration and finesse, surpassing the iconic 1986 and 1995 vintages in both structure and silkiness. This Château Margaux 2000 reveals a sublime balance between a tight, refined texture and an endlessly long, velvety finish, crafted through over two years of meticulous barrel ageing.
Aged to perfection and awarded triple 100-point scores by Robert Parker, Jane Anson MW, and Jeb Dunnuck, this Bordeaux grand cru embodies the essence of luxury wine collecting. With captivating aromas of violet, iris, black truffle, and crème de cassis interwoven with subtle notes of sandalwood and new oak, it offers a complex and multi-dimensional tasting experience.
Ideal for collectors seeking ultra-premium Bordeaux wines with exceptional ageing potential, Château Margaux 2000 will continue to evolve gracefully over the next 30 to 50 years. Whether opened now with hours of decanting or cellared for future enjoyment, this is a wine built for eternity — a true treasure for connoisseurs of rare, top-rated Bordeaux vintages.
Discover the legacy of Château Margaux, one of the most iconic and grandest Médoc Bordeaux wine estates, renowned for producing world-class, full-bodied red wines. Established as a landmark château in the early 19th century, Château Margaux has a rich history of centuries-old viticulture in the Bordeaux wine region.
While the estate’s ownership experienced ups and downs during the 19th and early 20th centuries, the revival of quality vintages began in 1977 when Greek-born André Mentzenopoulos acquired the property. With strategic investment in vineyard management and wine cellar technology, he restored Château Margaux to its prestigious status among Médoc Bordeaux wineries.
Today, the estate spans 82 hectares of meticulously maintained vineyards, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (75%) and complemented by 20% Merlot, along with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This classic Bordeaux grape composition is carefully crafted into the estate’s celebrated Grand Vin, Château Margaux, which makes up around 40% of the annual production of approximately 30,000 cases of red Bordeaux wine.
Uncommonly for the Margaux appellation, Château Margaux produces a distinguished white Bordeaux wine, Pavillon Blanc, crafted from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. This limited production white wine, with fewer than 3,000 cases made annually, offers a rare and refined expression of white Bordeaux from a primarily red wine-focused estate.
The estate’s winemaking heritage was further shaped by Paul Pontallier, a visionary winemaker who led Château Margaux through 33 vintages until his passing in 2016. Currently, the estate is guided by director Philippe Bascaules, technical director Sébastien Vergne, and renowned consultant Eric Boissenot, ensuring consistent quality and innovation in every bottle.
