Montes sources grapes from the best parcels of the Finca Apalta vineyard in Chile’s celebrated Colchagua Valley. With steep slopes, granite rich soils and cool night time temperatures, the terroir produces intensely flavoured grapes with excellent natural acidity.
The 2019 vintage benefitted from warm, stable weather, allowing for full ripeness and superb tannin development. Hand harvested grapes undergo gentle fermentation, followed by 18 months in French oak barrels to enhance complexity and structure.
